I live two good lives.  For eight months of the year, my husband (#2) Phillip and I reside in Mill Valley, a bucolic town 15 miles north of San Francisco. In the summer, we come back to Minnesota to the family cabin on Bay Lake. It’s a great mix.

In 1967, I headed to San Francisco after teaching high school English for a couple of years. A fluke took me from education to medical association management, and I embraced a stimulating 30-year career. Now that I’m retired, I wonder how I ever fit work, however meaningful, into my life.

My one daughter lives in the East Bay with her husband and two little girls. Being a Grannie is great fun – I bake LOTS of chocolate chip cookies!

Being part of our 50th reunion has been great fun too. I’ve reconnected in person, by phone, or by email with perhaps 100 classmates. It has given me a taste of what’s to come – the best time in years! We are an interesting group of Fogies. See you there!
What are your favorite activities?: Love to read, work at writing. I quilt some and hike less than I should.

I haven't been back to Minnesota since I moved to Tucson in 1982. The last time I was there the mosquitoes tried to eat me alive and I never went back.

My son turned 44 this year and thinks he's getting old, what I wouldn't give to be old like him again. I also have two daughters, Angie aged 41 and Missy aged 38. My eldest Grandchild Ashley is married and has a two year old daughter and my youngest Grandchild Katie is getting her college degree this spring.

I'm thoroughly enjoying retirement and have been going on road trips all over the Western US.

It is hard to believe that 50 years have passed since we vacated the halls of Park High to face the challenges and mysteries that awaited us.

Wondering, what's out there?

Now we know!

I personally, have been very blessed with good health, good friends, 2 loving wives (not at the same time), a wonderful son and 3 beautiful grand-children.

I just retired 2 weeks ago and am looking forward to the next phase of my life.  It is kind of like graduating from high school.

What awaits us next?

What are your favorite activities?: Golf, Hiking and biking, especially in the Colorado Rockies.
What countries have you visited and/or would you like to visit?: Italy and Mexico. My wife and I would love to go back to Italy. I would someday also like to visit Australia and New Zealand. However, there is a lot of the U.S. that I haven't experienced yet either, and I would like to do that also.
What kind of music do you like today?: Mostly soft rock - Eagles, that type. Some Country music, the older type like Merle Haggard, Waylon, Willie. When I am in the mood, I like Aerosmith. I still enjoy Elvis. I listen to the Elvis channel on XM radio whenever I can
How would your friends describe you today?: Older, but young for my age. I'd like to think they would describe me as a good friend with a good sense of humor.
What would you change if you could?: I've thought about this a lot in recent years. If I had it to do over, I would like to take more chances in life. I settled in at an early age with having a family, a job to support them, and that's pretty much what it has been. No complaints, but I think I could have made more of my life than I did.

I spent most of my life trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up... I think I wanted to be retired.
