Gene C. Murdock, 59, Port Charlotte, died Nov. 28, 2002. He was born Sept. 17, 1943, in Chicago and came to the Charlotte County area in 1995 from West Milford, N.J. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 110, Elks Lodge 2153, and Moose Lodge 2121, all of Port Charlotte. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Linh; his mother, Lois of Minneapolis; sons Alan K. of Charlotte, N.C., and George C. of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Yvonne L. Sebecke of Branchville, N.J.; a brother, Alan of Minneapolis; and one grandson. A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 110, 3152 Harbor Blvd., Port Charlotte.
