Robert Dewitt Conner, 67, passed away October 3, 2011. Robert was born November 22nd, 1943 to Dewitt and Theon Conner in Minneapolis, MN. He spent his youth between the state of Oregon and Minnesota, and later attended the University of Minnesota, where he met his wife of 43 years.
He was an industrial engineer, and worked for IBM and then Gallo, which brought him to the Modesto area.
Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending his days on the course with his son and friends. He was also very involved in the youth soccer community, and helped to establish the competitive soccer league, Ajax, here in Modesto.
He will be remembered as an outstanding father, a loving husband, a devoted grandfather, and a loyal friend. And he will be dearly missed.
Bob is survived by his wife Susan, sons Brian (Catherine) and Robert, and daughter Lindsay Whitworth (Bret), along with his three grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Murnane.
A private family burial will be held on Thursday morning, October 6th, at Lakewood cemetery with an open house to follow at the home of Brian and Catherine Conner, 512 Hartley Drive, from 1 to 4PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto.
