1943-09-07 2023-04-10Gabrielson, Carolyn "Ki" Shea (Kiewel) 79, passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2023 in Miramar Beach, FL surrounded by family.
She was born in Minneapolis on September 7th, 1943 to Frank and Gladys Kiewel. Carolyn leaves behind her husband of 57 years, John Randall Gabrielson, children Lisa Gabrielson Krause (Peter) and John Eric Gabrielson (Jennifer), five grandchildren Bianca Gabrielson-Russo, Luca Giannichedda Russo, Nicholas Gabrielson, Sophia Gabrielson and Noah Gabrielson, brother James Kiewel and sister-in-law Ann Kiewel. Carolyn was a St. Louis Park High School homecoming queen and original Lakers cheerleader in her early days. A graduate from the University of Minnesota, she went back for a second degree in Interior Design decades later and forged a business in the field. To quote Elise de Wolfe, "I am going to make everything around me beautiful-that will be my life.", and so it was. A devoted wife, mother and friend, she will forever be remembered for her class, grace, style, faithfulness, sharp wit and beauty, which shone through till her last breath. We thank Emerald Coast Hospice and My Elderly Solutions for providing optimal love and care during her last days. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to The Alzheimer's Foundation or the Children's Cancer Research Fund. A family memorial at Lakewood Cemetery and Celebration of Life will take place in Minneapolis in July.
